Respondent most of all encourages industry professionals, such as software developers, enterprise software users, marketers, and executives, as well as entrepreneurs and business owners.
But if you’re not an industry or a business professional, you should join anyway because there are plenty of surveys and studies to take part in, and plenty of opportunities to make some extra money. Respondent caters to such a wide variety of research projects that you never know when they need college students, homemakers, retirees, or whoever. You’re guaranteed to find a study that suits you.
Besides, it’s free to join Respondent, and creating and setting up your profile takes no more than a few minutes or so. After that, you can start applying for the studies you want to participate in, and as long you meet the researcher’s criteria, then you’re on your way to earning money just by answering questions and sharing your opinion.
Is Respondent legit?
Yes, Respondent is completely legit.
Now some people might confuse Respondent as just another one of those survey sites. But it isn’t. It focuses on high-quality, high-paying research studies, and is in fact a legitimate market research company trusted by some of the world’s most leading brands, including Microsoft, IBM, Oracle, Dropbox, Airbnb, eBay, etc.
You will notice as soon as you sign up that the research studies available in Respondent are so much more than your run-of-the-mill surveys. These are professionally made and require some serious and careful thought, unlike ordinary surveys that need only a few clicks to complete.
And Respondent really does pay you for taking part in research studies – far more, in fact, than your typical survey site.
What do you do on Respondent?
Well, you sign up, complete your profile, and then you can start applying for research studies.
Don’t worry, you won’t have to do much work while looking for suitable surveys and studies. Respondent will already send you the research projects that fit your profile. Also, you can browse through a convenient list of all available studies to find even more opportunities.
Once you apply for study, you must take a screener survey first. This is a survey that determines if you’re the perfect participant for the study. Each screener survey is different: it all depends on the nature and requirements of the study. It could be a study about your favorite brand of sneakers, your choice of shampoo, your feedback on a certain software, or a demo on a new app.
Note that even if you’re a 100% match, it doesn’t mean that you’ll be selected immediately or at all. It could be that the study requires only a handful of participants, and some people beat you to it, or it could be some other reason. You’re only allowed to apply for 3 studies each day, so be selective – apply only to the studies where you feel like you’ll be a good match. More important, apply fast.
Anyway, if you pass the screener survey, you will then receive an invitation requiring you to confirm your attendance for the research project. When invited to a study, you will be able to select a time that fits your schedule.
Now, every research study varies. It could be done by phone, online, or sometimes, in-person. Don’t worry, this info is included on a job or project listing even before you apply. Most of the studies are done remotely, allowing you to earn a nice bit of cash all from the comfort of your own home. But in-person projects are also worth your time, especially if you happen to live in a big city, where in-person research studies are frequently available.
Once you complete a research study and you’re marked as “Attended”, you will be paid via PayPal within 5 to 8 business days. Note that Respondent will deduct a 5% processing fee from your earnings.
How much can you earn on Respondent?
It depends. Some studies might pay you $25 for 15 minutes of your time, some $150 for 30 minutes, while a few can even pay you upwards of $500 for an hour and a half-long study. Sometimes, you can also get other incentives, like free products and stuff.
It really depends on what the research study is all about, what company or organization commissioned it, and who the study needs to participate. Obviously, people with higher qualifications tend to earn more, but there’s plenty of opportunities for everyone to make good money.
While you won’t become a millionaire with Respondent anytime soon, one thing’s for sure, you’ll be earning so much more than the pennies you’ll often scrape from survey sites. Respondent, after all, is not a survey site. It offers high-quality research opportunities at premium rates, so expect to earn a high-quality income, too!
